After 4 Whole Years, The NY Times Finally Admits ‘Dossier’ About Trump Was Fake

(Republican Insider) – The New York Times, a leading liberal news publication that helped the rest of their mainstream media brethren to push out the false narrative that former President Donald Trump worked in cahoots with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential race to ensure Hillary lost, has finally admitted that the ridiculous “Steele dossier” was a fake.

According to WND, GOP investigators managed to dig and dig until they found evidence that suggested that the document in question, put together by a former British spy named Christopher Steele, was actually an opposition-research project that was paid for by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Hilariously, the whole dossier was basically driven by Russian propaganda that was spoon fed to Steele by one source.

The Times has now published a feature story written by former Times investigative reporter Barry Meier, which acknowledges that many of the outlandish claims made in the dossier “have never materialized or have been proved false.”

Funny how this admission comes out after Trump is already out of office, right? Strange coincidence.

“Meier said he knocked on the door of Steele’s home in Farnham, England, in his research of a book on the business of private intelligence. During the 2016 presidential campaign, he recalled, Steele had been hired by an investigative firm called Fusion GPS ‘to gather dirt about Donald J. Trump and Russia,'” the report said.

At that particular time, Meier said in the piece, those “involved with the dossier were intent on controlling its narrative and eager to capitalize on their fame.”

“Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch, the founders of Fusion GPS, wrote a best-selling book about the dossier that became a best seller. Steele sold his life rights to a Hollywood studio owned by George Clooney,” the report continued.

“But the glow has faded, he said, noting the collapse of the dossier’s ‘most explosive claims — like a salacious ‘pee’ tape featuring Mr. Trump or a supposed meeting in Prague between Michael Cohen, Mr. Trump’s former attorney, and Russian operatives,” it added.

He then stated that the dossier went on a “journey from media obsession to slush pile.”

Back in January, the Trump administration declassified a number of documents that revealed Steele was introduced to the primary source of his dossier by Fiona Hill, a former Russia expert serving on the National Security Council who gave testimony against Trump in his first impeachment hearing.

John Solomon, an editor for Just The News, reported during that time that documents revealed the collusion narrative was actually created and leaked to news media to “neutralize Hillary Clinton’s concern that her email scandal had not yet gone away.”

“It was actually a calculated political act, and you’ll see in Christopher Steele’s own acknowledgement that that was the reason that James Comey’s continued actions to keep the case open drove him to leak and to plant what turned out to be a false story,” Solomon stated.

It’s actually amazing that the NY Times even made this admission. We all knew this was what happened, but to hear someone with clout in the organization finally come clean about the nothing burger that was the Russian collusion scandal is almost astounding.

Again, they know that this admission can’t hurt them now, which is why it’s coming out right now. Let’s hope folks stop relying on mainstream media for news coverage.
