(Republican Insider) – On Tuesday, 27 House Democrats made it crystal clear where they stand on the safety and protection of the Supreme Court’s justices and their families.
Despite the fact that it’s because of leftist rhetoric that the justices are in need of heightened security in the first place, that didn’t stop 27 Dems from voting against a bill that will provide the justices with increased protection.
Among the opposition was Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, unsurprisingly. The 27 votes against the bill were fortunately a far cry from preventing the bill from passing, which it did with a 396-27 vote, according to Fox News.
Republican Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona said that the Democratic opposition to a bill aimed at protecting the families of SCOTUS justices was “ludicrous and shameful.”
27 House Democrats just voted against passing expanded security for Supreme Court justices’ families.
This comes just days after a rogue individual attempted to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh at his Maryland home.
This is ludicrous and shameful.

The bill will give families of the nine justices 24-hour protection which is now necessary after unhinged leftists have shown up at several of the justices’ houses to protest the leaked Roe v Wade draft decision.
It comes on the heels of a wanna-be assassin showing up in Brett Kavanaugh’s Maryland neighborhood armed with a pistol and a knife, as Fox News reported.
Apparently, 27 Democrats just don’t think there’s a need to protect the lives of the Supreme Court justices from radicalized abortion zealots.
“I wake up this morning and I start to hear murmurs that there is going to be an attempt to pass the Supreme Court supplemental protection bill the day after gun safety legislation for schools and kids and people is stalled,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“Oh, so we can pass protections for us and here easily, right? But we can’t pass protections for everyday people? I think not.”
When AOC refers to “protections for everyday people” she’s referring to gun control. Not exactly the same kind of cut and dry issue as protecting the lives and safety of Supreme Court justices from unhinged leftists.
The Senate had no problem passing the bill. As a matter of fact, they were able to pass it by unanimous consent. The bill was stalled in the House, however, as Democrats wanted to expand the scope of the bill.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy attempted to pass the bill three times with requests for unanimous consent but all three attempts failed, according to The Hill.
“The House Democrats have delayed it for more than a month. The question the American public asks is, why? Why would you delay it?” McCarthy said.
“We have all known that additional security has been necessary since the Dobbs opinion was leaked last month,” he said.
The answer seems obvious and Republican Sen. John Cornyn called out House leaders for attempting a “transparent attempt to stall the legislation,” according to CBS.
“The line between legitimate public discourse and acts of violence has been crossed, and House Democrats cannot continue to turn a blind eye,” he said. “We don’t have time to spare when it comes to protecting the members of the court and their families.”
The delay was also called out by House Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana.
“It just begs the question: Why did Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi delay it for over a month?” the Republican said, according to Politico.
Clearly the Democrats who opposed the bill are playing political games and proving just how out of touch they are with America.
