(Republican Insider) – Fox News host Tucker Carlson came out with both barrels blazing against Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Wednesday after he stated the riot that took place at the Capitol building was a “violent terrorist attack.”
According to Infowars, Carlson’s opening monologue kicked off by mocking the very idea that the Capitol riot was a terrorist attack and an “insurrection” as the Democrats have continued to try and label it.
Carlson then put Republicans on blast, including Cruz, whom the Fox News host felt took up the Democratic Party talking points that he says were first put out there by Attorney General Merrick Garland to talk about the riot.
“Now let’s be honest,” Carlson went on to say. “Everyone who’s conservative appreciates Ted Cruz. You may not like him. But you’ve gotta appreciate him. He’s legitimately smart. He’s one of the more articulate people to serve in the Congress, maybe the most articulate.”
“He doesn’t use a single word by accident,’ Carlson continued. “Every word Ted Cruz uses is used intentionally. He’s a lawyer.”
Carlson then wondered aloud why Cruz was using these carefully chosen words to describe what happened on January 6th as a terrorist attack.
“He described January 6th as a violent terrorist attack,’ the top-rated cable news host remarked. “Of all the things January 6th was, it was definitely not a violent terrorist attack. It wasn’t an insurrection. Was it a riot? Sure. It was not a violent terrorist attack. Sorry! So why are you telling us it was, Ted Cruz?”

Our friends at 100 Percent Fed Up said, “Ted Cruz, who has previously been an advocate for election integrity and objected to the certification of the 2020 election, has now turned on his Republican colleagues and the patriots who showed up to protest the fraudulent 2020 election. Cruz joined on a letter signed by multiple other Congressmen alleging ‘unprecedented allegations of voter fraud, violations and lax enforcement of election law’ in the wake of the 2020 election. Yesterday, Cruz turned his back on other Republicans and had this to say about the January 6th unrest.”
“We are approaching a solemn anniversary this week,” Cruz had stated during a Senate Rules Committee hearing. “And it is an anniversary of a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol, where we saw the men and women of law enforcement demonstrate incredible courage, incredible bravery, risk their lives for the Capitol.”
So what in the world is going on here with this statement? Is Cruz playing politics here? This doesn’t seem like a smart thing to say with the 2022 midterm elections coming up next year.
Supporters of President Trump, a much needed demographic Republicans need to pull in victories next year, will not stand for this kind of rhetoric being used to describe people they feel are being railroaded by the Democratic Party as part of a mission to vilify all conservatives.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see how Cruz responds to being dismantled by Tucker.
