Must-See: Chuck Todd Asks Secretary Of State Antony Blinken Why Putin Didn’t Escalate During The Trump Administration

(Republican Insider) – It’s a very rare sight indeed to witness anyone who belongs to the mainstream media suddenly start doing their job to ask our government officials tough and yet fair questions that in any way, shape, or form seem to vindicate the Trump administration, but yet that’s exactly what NBC’s Chuck Todd did during an interview with Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to the Gateway Pundit, Todd asked Blinken on Sunday why Russian President Vladimir Putin didn’t escalate tensions with Ukraine while Donald Trump was the president.

And, as was to be expected, Blinken was unable to provide an answer.

“[The] previous one. Why do you think [Putin] didn’t act then?” Chuck Todd went on to ask the secretary of state on “Meet the Press.”

“I hope you get a chance to ask him,” Blinken said as he fumbled trying to get his answer to the question out.

It’s kind of interesting to note that the last two times Putin has made the decision to get aggressive with military moves against Ukraine have been while Joe Biden was part of the presidential administration, isn’t it?

Back in 2014, Putin took Crimea and he currently has 200,000 troops amassed at the border his country shares with Ukraine. Putin never dared to try such a move while Donald Trump was in the White House.

But that didn’t stop the mainstream media from referring to President Trump as “Putin’s puppet,” for a total of five years.

A report from the Western Journal stated that concerns over a potential “false flag” incident being used by Russia as pretext for invading Ukraine grew exponentially on Saturday as multiple reports stating the Ukraine government was assaulting separatists seemed to align with Russia.

“On Friday, an explosion was reported near Luhansk, located in the pro-Russia region of Ukraine, hours after an apparent car bomb exploded in Donetsk, according to the New York Post,” the report stated. “President Joe Biden on Friday said the world should expect Russia to sweep into Ukraine any day.”

“We have reason to believe the Russian forces are planning to, intend to, attack Ukraine in the coming week, in the coming days,” Biden went on to say, according to The New York Times. “We believe that they will target Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, a city of 2.8 million innocent people.”

“Asked about Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s plans, Biden said he was ‘convinced he’s made the decision’ to invade,” the report noted.

Just last week, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan stated that Russia’s script for a potential invasion of Ukraine would start off with attacks it would first blame on Ukraine.

“We are firmly convinced that the Russians, should they decide to move forward with an invasion, are looking hard at the creation of a false-flag operation, something that they generate and try to blame on the Ukrainians as a trigger for military action. And we are calling that out publicly because we do believe that if Russia chooses to do that, they should be held to account,” Sullivan remarked.

This very scenario seemed to be playing out on the ground as separatist leader Denis Pushilin ordered women, children, and the elderly who live in the country to flee because of alleged attacks being carried out by Ukraine.

“In recent months, we have been observing a daily increase in the number of military personnel and lethal weapons by Ukraine, including Smerch and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems, NLAW rocket launchers, as well as Javelins and Stingers along the entire line of contact,” Pushilin went on to say Friday, according to a report from the New York Post.

“That this was perhaps a bit of political theater was noted in an Associated Press report that said metadata in the video file showed the recording was made Wednesday but not released until Friday,” the WJ piece reported.

Ukraine went on to deny these claims.
